Leo Laporte (born November 29, 1956 in New York City, New York) is a technology broadcaster and author. He majored around Chinese History at Yale University and currently lives around Sonoma County, California with his wife & deuce youngsters.
He is the persons of G4techTV Canada's daily television show Call for Help, which airs in the USA, Canada and Australia, and the technology-oriented talk radio show on station KFI AM 640 in southern California. He appears semi-regularly in Showbiz Tonight, Live with Regis and Kelly and ABC World News Now. He has authored the total of technology orientated books, including ''Leo Laporte's 2005 Gadget Suggestion & Leo Laporte's Solution to TiVo.
Laporte has created, hosted, & contributed to the total of technology-related broadcasting projects, including Dvorak In Computers, Laporte In Computers, Internet!, & A Home Computing Indicate''. Within 1997, he earned an Emmy Award for his work in MSNBC's The Site, a daily hour-long newsmagazine. He created The Places, to which he likewise contributed every day in the role of the computer-generated character named Dev Null. Within 1998, he created & co-hosted The Screen Savers and the Western version of Require Aid on the cable and satellite network TechTV. Laporte left A Screen Savers fallowing TechTV was purchased by Comcast and merged with G4 to form G4techTV (now known entirely when G4).
Laporte's writings include 101 Computer Answers That you Want to Underst& and, last, the every year series of technology almanacs, including ''Leo Laporte's Technology Almanac & Unfortunate Leo's Computer Almanac. He has besides contributed to the total of periodicals, including Byte, Infoworld, and MacUser.
Laporte hosts a hebdomadally podcast This Week in Tech with several more previous cast members of The Screen Savers. In August 18, 2005, he created the podcast Security Now!'' with Steve Gibson, which is dedicated exclusively to security inside technology.
